in response to bakanekonei tagging me with
'10 things about my art
Rules: List 10 things about your art and post it in your journal. Then pick 6 other Deviants to do the same.'
i decided to do it. normally i dont do stuff like this, but its bakanekonei..how can i say no?
1.)i dont consider myself an artist. much like someone who limits themselves artwise with doodles on the margins of a textbook in school, im a doodle'er. or maybe someone who draws, but i dont put in the effort or time to really be an artist. i draw when i have some free time, but no serious reservations to draw 'professionally', and i think im a long ways from that anyway. and im also not getting any younger. but at least i look much younger than my age.
2.)i never finish anything. i can count on one hand the number of pieces i've finished. and thats an amputated hand at that
3.)the reason for #2 is because i have artistic ADD. i rarely work on something for more than 2-3 hours. in the 4 1/2 years i've been drawing, i can count how many pieces that have taken me longer than a few hours on two hands. most likely with one or more hands experiencing some dismemberment.
4.)when i have a little time to draw, i play music. usually one song on repeat to help me zone out. like meditating.
5.)i take alot of hiatuses from drawing. not always because i want to though. i usually take between 3-6 months (once almost a year) of drawing absolutely nothing, then have a spurt of inspiration for about 2-3months. then take another hiatus.
6.)alot of people think my use of colors is 'amazing', but in truth, its not that hard to do. ive been 'actively' working on my color use skills for a whopping 5 months. off and on. mostly off though.
7.)i prefer helping people with their art than working on my own.
8.)i throw away all my 'real' sketches as soon as im done drawing it. sometimes before. i never back up my hard drive so i usually lose all the digital stuff too when my hard drive crashes. (except uploaded stuff) im more interested in the rush of discovering something new (like a new technique, new realization on how something is done) than the actual result. it usually takes me about a day in retrospect of disliking something i drew the day before.
9.)i can draw realism (and decent if i do say so myself). i just dont find it personally that rewarding.
10.)i like to draw women.
